Hiking Camino de Santiago and beyond!

Views at different times

We have returned to Amsterdam for the last 4 days of our adventure.
The first two days we are staying in the Noord / NDSM wharf. Amazing access to city center via a free ferry. Amazing views of the river & old Amsterdam skyline.
Next up is King’s Day celebration. Amsterdam loves to celebrate this day. Music, food, beverages. Street parties. Anyone can sell ‘stuff’ on the street – and we saw everything! Junk, good stuff- cheap & pricey! Fun music & plenty of beverages. Adrienne- a friend from Amsterdam pickleball- showed us fun neighborhood celebrations – so much fun!

We have had a great time exploring Germany. the trains are prompt. The country is clean and people are nice ….tho not exactly ebullient. Excellent German cuisine was enjoyed & somehow I avoided the decadent tortes. Our first European futbol game was a blast. We love the ways bier can be enjoyed. Anywhere! Trains, trams, sidewalks. We toured via train, tram, buses & walk. Countryside charming. Architecture amazing. Thanks Germany- had a blast!
The second largest city in Germany is wonderful. The warehouse district – UNESCO site is beautifully preserved. Our hotel neighborhood has excellent bus service & cafes. A concert of classical& Jazz excellent. 2400 bridges in Hamburg 1200 Amsterdam & 600 Venice. It was a convenient stop between Berlin & Amsterdam & a great choice!

We scored tickets to Berlin-Hertha v Bremen Werder. Fabulous fun! It is a David (Bremen) v Goliath (berlin) and a huge number of Bremen fans drove 5 hours to watch their team. Bremen won 4-2 and what a celebration. And the fans – while a bit over-served…we’re great. Btw: beers were fabulous-ha!

Three fun days exploring Prague and now off to Berlin. Rain rides in Germany, Netherlands, & Belgium are a treat. Beautiful countryside and charming small towns.
