Nara
A lot less crazy than Kyoto and great temple.

Kyoto tea ceremony

Kyoto – with blossoms & tourists
First time in Kyoto with Jack – it was chilly & uncrowded. Now tourists everywhere!

Kochi – more Shikoku
We are loving Shikoku – so we are going to explore more.
Train ride from Yakamatsu to Kochi is amazing. Slow & stunning.
Few tourists in Kochi. We find 2 amazing g local restaurants and the food & experience is memorable.

Takamatsu Garden
Takamatsu is warmer and blossoms are appearing

Shikoku – here we come.
Takamatsu is first. Easy access to Naoshima.
We take a day trip to Naoshima (50 seconds to catch ferry…crazy) and it is the perfect day. 60 degrees. Sunshine. Boat ride could not be better. When we get to Naoshima tske a little bus to Benesse House Museum. Great exhibits. Good lunch- amazing water views. Walk to Chichu Art Museum. Underground – cool. Displays fabulous.
Afterwards we walk back to town- past a beach – which draws me like a magnet to hunt for sea glass as the sun sets on horizon. Speedy little boat ride back to Yakamatsu – what a day!

Himeji – Castle
Himeji has the best castle in Japan.
…we have seen some good ones & we have 7 more days of JRPass – so we are going to check it out.
Great train station & tasty lunch fuel us for the castle. An easy walk from station
Great castle & gardens. Ez city to navigate. Got to love it!

Time to Go – Jack
We loved having Jack travel with us for 2 weeks in Japan! …dang we are lucky! We saw & did so many amazing things. And two weeks went by too fast.
Hakuba Train Ride to Tokyo- Mountain Fuji – fabulous!
The train from Hakuba to Tokyo is a local train – lots of stops – no transfers!
Highlight- we travel right past Mt Fuji & it is sunset! Photos do not go justice – it can bro g back memories!
