Western Australia

We are spending the day on flights & airports to go to Western Australia.

We have been told – no trip to Australia can miss Western Australia. Greg is questioning our logic ….and it does NOT disappoint.

Western Australia- WA – wait awhile is great.

We started our tour in Perth. greg starts each day with a 50km bike ride to Freemantle & back. Loved it. I enjoyed a latte!

We loved exploring Freemantle and Perth. Found the Harbor & Swan River beautiful. Fringe Festival was in its run. The botanical garden was stunning. And – amazing – as WA is home to botanicals only found here.

Airlie Beach – Rain!

It can’t really rain for 7 days – no way! Were we wrong! Welcome to the tropics!

Our photos are horrible- our memories are priceless.

We stayed in the charming town of Airlie Beach at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef.

The good news – the rain is warm. The good news – no flooding. The good news; one day of no rain & we went to the Great Barrier Reef.

The Reef is amazing. We snorkeled for hours / in fact – the last 2 out of the water!

We saw amazing coral, giant & colorful clams, amazing fish & and a giant eel swam right under us.

To be clear – the worst time to go/ if the rain doesn’t get you, the stingers will. We wore a stinger suit-did not see any.

The seas were rough-no sea sickness.

Beautiful islands to see in way out.

Airlie Beach has a giant swim lagoon/pool. Fortunate as stingers & sharks hang out on the beach. Greg & I swam laps every day – doesn’t really matter if it rains while you are swimming g!
