Hiking Camino de Santiago and beyond!

Los Arcos is a tiny town with a big heart. About 2 blocks wide & quarter of a mile long. This lovely Cathedral celebrates mass nightly for Pilgrims & is gorgeous. Then everyone – everyone celebrates in plaza.
The wine fountain is free to all pilgrims and is right on route. 8:25 is not too early to enjoy!
On to Logrono – wine center for Rioja & Tempranillo.

We are now moving from the pasturelands of the Pyrenees to Eine country and we will hike between rows of grapes – they are heavy with fruit & ready for harvest.
After a day of rest in Estella – relaxed! Lovely small town right on river.

The pilgrim sculpture is between Pamplona & Puente La Reina. At the top of a good ascent – it is a windswept peak with 360 views for Miles. It is memorable. It tells the story of pilgrims – while representing all – details the story of long ago. Pilgrims would take a year for their pilgrimage. Many as penance as dictated by their parish priest. Mostly men as the pilgrims would sleep on straw beds often accommodating 25+pilgrims.
Walking to Pamplona was our first large city. Stunning architecture stole the show. However, our favorite was the plaza alive with activity from children romping to young loves to abuelas in their finest outfits sharing an espresso or vino with friends.
Then there is our first tapas bar – love it!
