Tasmania

In our short stay in Tasmania, we found a people who loved their land and considered themselves fortunate to live there. It is a country/island with a strong maritime heritage. Hardy souls. The link to Antarctic expeditions is interesting.

Hobart is a beautiful small city with lovely old buildings and parks. …time to give thanks …once again to convict labor? Indeed. Their building contributions are seen all around Australia.

Hobart – Tasmania

While our time in Tasmania was too short, we did jam in some fun. I found the Bruny Island trip fun and we had some other adventures.

Greg rented a road bike for a day and explored Hobart & area. Jack & I went to MONA – museum of old & new art and had a blast! Very eclectic- very hands on. Pictures to follow in next post.

We celebrated the Victoria Pub last night of business with its local clients- yes, we stumbled in for a beer and joined the celebration. The mounted buffalo was interesting in Taz.

We celebrated Jack’s excellent semester with a chef’s choice dinner at an excellent restaurant.

We found a fun Malaysian restaurant for dinner one night.

The most fun was Salamanca market area which had the best music, pubs, and casual dining. ….we wish we had found it a night earlier!

Saturday Salamanca market was a fun mix of good & crafts.
